These are just a few of the typical questions we get asked on a daily basis in the CCO. Virtually anything that has to do with a student’s future career plans – from choice of major all the way through to acceptance of an offer can be discussed with one of our highly trained and knowledgeable staff members.
The Center for Career Opportunities offers a wide variety of services to all Purdue students, freshmen through graduate students, as well as alumni. Want your resume, curriculum vitae or cover letter critiqued? Just walk in between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Need some job search coaching or career counseling? Simply call the appointment desk at 765-494-3981. Nervous about interviewing? Log in to InterviewStream and practice online. Not sure what is meant by “networking”? CCO staff members are frequent guest speakers in classes, residence halls, and at student organization meetings – we will be doing more than 200 presentations around campus this semester.
Topics for these presentations include resume writing, interviewing, job search, job fairs, networking, CCO Express, career exploration and
negotiating offers. Requests for these presentations can be made online through our website.
CCO EXPRESS is our online job posting and on-campus recruitment system. Companies who are interested in Purdue students for internships and/or full time jobs but can’t get to campus can post their opportunities for Purdue students. Companies who can come to campus post their positions in the system. Students can then search the system and apply on line for both the job posting and OCR positions. Easy and convenient!
The Career Wiki is Purdue’s online career library that can be accessed from our website. Career Guides, employer research, resources by major, diversity resources, international resources, and employment data are just a few of the resources that can be found in the Career Wiki.
