Pump up your nightlife with Qlubbr
Being involved in startup-related events like Echelon 2011 has put us in touch with a lot of interesting an innovative people and ideas from around the region. One such group that we manage to meet were Echelon 2011 exhibitors Qlubbr . The group comes from a diverse technical and design background with a strong interest in the nightlife scene.
e27 manage to grab a quick word with Sherizan Sheikh who co-founded and designs Qlubbr. He and his team will also be presenting at our Founders Drinks relaunch as part of the evening’s case study. Find out more about Qlubbr in the following interview.

Qlubbr is a geo-location based social network for nightlife users to discover popular nightspots, attending parties and enjoying discounts with friends.
Why sometimes getting drunk is a good thing
The whole idea began early this year, when I was in town with a bunch of friends at a local pub arguing about where we should go next. Where is the best place to go where there was a good crowd without actually going in. And then after a few rounds of beer, it struck me. With today’s technology (check-ins and what not) it would make total sense to share information across users with these relevant data which would make someone who wants to have a good night out, possible!
Once the hangover was gone, Qlubbr was born.
Geeks responsible for more drunken parties
I paired up with Yasin, who by the way, is a kick-ass developer with 15 plus years of <code>experience</code> under his belt. He had some pretty neat, successful projects he did before Qlubbr like Anakmelayu.com and SingaporeIndians.com , 2 powerhouse social networking sites during the Friendster era that reached over 100,000 members in Singapore alone. (that story is for another day).
And it was during this time, a co-founder was found.
