Trust International was the first central reservations system to provide real-time rate and availability information to Google for inclusion in Google Maps and Google Hotel Finder. The CRS provider, which lists Taj Hotels and Leading Hotels of the World as clients, reports a 7%-8% conversion rate on users who clicked through from Google Maps.
“Our clients’ (average daily rates) are fairly high, so we’re seeing 30 to 40 times ROI on the cost of click versus actual revenue from the booking. Once the person clicks, it’s a well-qualified lead,” said Sandy Riach, Trust’s VP of IT and product development. “No one is saying they’re paying more than they’re receiving.”
HotelNewsNow.com caught up with Trust to answer important questions about the details of Google’s pricing model for newly introduced products, specifically Hotel Price Ads and Hotel Finder. In addition to conversion rates, Riach discussed the ability to bid on the top position in booking dropdown windows and monitoring budget spend with Google.
