Cushman, Arkansas - The body of a 71 year old woman who had disappeared for several days was found in a remote area in the extreme south-west of Izard County.
Sheriff Tate Lawrence told the Batesville Daily Guard (http://bit.ly/pvInsi) a man who was walking his dogs on his property found a car then discovered the body of Anna Cowden about 6 pm on Sunday.
Lawrence said the owner told authorities it appears Cowden had eroded an old, isolated forest road and tried to circle around back when his vehicle became lodged between two trees.
She left the car and walk.Cowden was found at about 100 meters from her car.
Cowden was last seen on October 1 when she left her home in Cushman to clean a nearby church.

The newspaper had failed to include Terrance James in the list of surviving family in the obituary of his partner of 10 years, John Christopher Millican. Asked about the failure of Queerty, general manager of the newspaper, Pat Jones, said it was a matter of policy.
"It's not a gay thing," said Jones."We do not list non-married couples, step-parents, or pets in the obituary free."
Although the couple was technically single, the newspaper appeared to acknowledge the equal nature of their relationship after talking with GLAAD.
"When a person loses his homosexual partner, the loss is no less, and must be treated the same," the paper, a spokesman, Oscar Jones (also son of the CEO), acknowledged.
